"I don't think I was planning on really officially releasing these recordings to the general public at the time I was making them. I had just gotten a Tascam 8 track cassette recorder near the end of 1992... once I kinda got the hang of how to make it work, I just kept going. Making up songs on the spot... recording different versions of songs that I had already released on CD... and sometimes, just plain goofing around and experimenting. Sometimes with a variety of vocals... like the way actors use make-up... taking on different personalities to sing the songs... and also, effects on the instruments. For some of these songs I wasn't using an electric guitar, it was my acoustic guitar (check out Kathland At Sunset) because I didn't own an electric at the time. Later I ended up borrowing one for some of the songs. Lyrics... some lyrics may be offensive (no obscenities) and/or may challenge one's personal beliefs. That's OK if people don't like those songs... there's songs out there that I don't like either for one reason or another. Since these are basement tapes... you'll hear out-of-tune vocals in places, guitars not hitting right on the beat and some pretty sloppy lead guitar playing... and whatever else happens with basement tapes. These are just some of the songs recorded between 1993 and 1995. ALSO... these songs sound best in headphones because that's how they were mixed... all in their lo-fi, sloppy glory."
